Unit 228 - Making components from composite materials
You will be required to produce components using laying-up, laminating and/or moulding techniques. Using
pre-prepared formers, jigs or moulds you will be required to produce components and finish them with hand tools such as brushes, rollers or spray equipment as well as portable power tools for trimming. In producing components you will be required to interpret and work to relevant specifications. At each stage of manufacture and on completion, you will be expected to check the workpiece using measuring equipment appropriate to the aspects being checked and tolerances to be achieved, and ensure that the workpiece is within dimensional requirements.

3 Check the completed work conforms to specification
