Unit 211 - Fitting using hand skills

During this unit you will have to produce components and simple assemblies using hand tools and hand fitting techniques. Included in this unit is the necessity for planning the sequence of operations and tools needed for the required fitting and manufacture. During manufacture and fitting you will be expected to check quality and sizes using the appropriate measuring equipment for the aspects to be checked and tolerances to be achieved.

This unit has the following elements

1 Work efficiently and effectively at fitting using hand skills

2 Produce components to the required specification using hand tools

3 Use bench/pedestal drilling and grinding machines

4 Check the completed work conforms to specification
